WSIA provides career-long professional learning to advance the careers and develop the talent of members' employees. The Association offers a full-slate of education programs for new and seasoned E&S professionals. Designed to strengthen knowledge and cultivate strong leadership skills, WSIA education programs are offered in a progressive format so participants are appropriately challenged through every phase of their E&S careers. Excess & Surplus Lines

Surplus Lines Regulatory Compliance Course

For brokers, underwriters, regulators and agents with less than two years of surplus lines experience.
Cover a variety of subject material including an overview of the surplus lines industry, licensing, record keeping, insurer eligibility, diligent search, tax remittance, policy disclosure and delivery, and independent procurement and industrial exemption.

Understand why the surplus lines market is needed, how its distribution system works, how surplus lines transactions are regulated, and how the surplus lines market is able to successfully underwrite risks that the standard market has declined.

Online CE Credits

WSIA seeks to utilize current technology to provide economical, professional and practical online education opportunities to its members. Success CE is the current provider of online CE courses for WSIA. 

Under the program, employees of WSIA member firms can access the CE courses through the WSIA website and complete the process online. The cost is $34.95 (plus state fees) per person for unlimited courses for a year or $14.95 for individual courses. These costs are separate from any Surplus Lines Regulatory Compliance Course costs.
