Ron is the president of 818 Research LP, the director of 4 films, and the author of 2 books and many institutional reports. He is in production for the new web series “Potentially Disruptive” which explores new technologies, and their impact on the future.
His film "Why WalMart Works" was the subject of international controversy, and was the first film to ever premiere in the U.S. Capitol Building. His work has been written about in the New York Times, the Wall Street Journal, and New Yorker magazine. He has appeared on CNN, CNBC, the BBC, and was the subject of a feature on Jon Stewart’s Daily Show. He wrote and filmed "Rethinking Powerpoint," a study of slide design best practices.
Ron has spoken at hundreds of conferences.

Justin Esch is working to change the way people think about car sharing, car ownership, mobility, transportation and the future of self-driving cars. Justin works to support this mission by partnering with like-minded companies and brands to extend the value we can provide together.
Justin's career has evolved from SaaS sales, to founding my own company, to business development and strategic partnerships. He currently leads Turo's Partnership efforts.
Justin has led business development efforts in a wide range of verticals; from leading OEM automotive manufacturers and parts suppliers, to insurance, finance and credit companies, to ridesharing, ride hailing, autonomous vehicles, AI, ADAS, blockchain and beyond. Justin is skilled at developing PR relationships to create earned media opportunities, and he has been a guest on shows like The Oprah Winfrey Show, CNN, FOX and ABC World News to promote business efforts.
Paul is CEO and Founder of Definitive InsureTech, and a global thought leader in insurance technology. He is internationally recognized as an insurance industry strategist with a specialization in Blockchain. Before creating Definitive InsureTech, he spent 18 years in software vendors delivering complex global insurance solutions in a fast-paced business environment, most recently as Joint Managing Director of Total Objects (part of DXC). With his in-depth understanding of the business and technology challenges, Paul accomplished several transformation initiatives for key industry participants in the US, Australia, Asia and Europe.
John F. Finston
John F. Finston is a former General Counsel and Deputy Insurance Commissioner for the State of California who advises clients on insurance-related financial transactions, with a focus on highlighting and resolving insurance regulatory issues.
John's practice involves representing reinsurance companies, insurance companies and insurance associations in mergers and acquisitions, transaction business restructuring, insolvency, and regulatory matters. He has extensive experience in transaction matters, and frequently advises corporate clients with respect to their rights against insurance company receivers and property/casualty insurance guaranty funds in the event of the insolvency of their insurers.
While General Counsel and Deputy Commissioner of the California Department of Insurance, John was deeply involved in policy making and led the Legal Branch of the Department, which involved supervision of more than 140 attorneys, legal assistants and staff. He was active in a number of state, national and international insurance regulatory matters, and under his leadership as General Counsel, the Department had many notable litigation victories on behalf of consumers.
John represented the Department in interactions with many of the state's largest insurer licensees, addressing compliance matters, developing new regulatory approaches, and providing advice. He also played a key role in advising the Commissioner on major health and other insurance mergers, insurance company insolvencies, guaranty association related matters, and a host of other insurance market, consumer protection and regulatory matters. In addition, John assisted the Commissioner and Department's Legislative office by providing expertise in support of the Commissioner's legislative initiatives, and opposing legislation that was inconsistent with prudent regulatory principles or had the potential to have an adverse impact on California consumers.
At the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC), John was a nationally recognized leader on the international insurance issues and reinsurance and receivership law and regulation. He chaired the NAIC Reinsurance Task Force, the Receivership Task Force, and the Qualified Jurisdiction Working Group, and was a leader in the modernization of the Credit for Reinsurance Model Act and regulations. He also actively participated in the negotiation of the Covered Agreement between the U.S. and the EU as a direct participant in the negotiation sand as a technical advisory to the state insurance regulators participating in the negotiations.
Mike Gulla is the Director of Underwriting at Hippo Insurance. Prior to Hippo, he was the second underwriting hire at Esurance's homeowner's division, where he helped grow the underwriting team to over 25 people and launched their homeowner's product in 30 states. Before Esurance, he spent five years in various underwriting capacities at nationwide Mutual Insurance, including High Value Homes, Personal Umbrella Coverage and Portfolio Management. Mike holds a bachelor's degree in political science and American politics from Troy University.
Bradley Hurajt studied at Syracuse University in Six Sigma Fundamentals
and is currently working towards achieving his black belt. His
professional interests focus on consolidating data to develop simple
platforms that provide levels of situational awareness. He has taken
over twenty years of military experience where he was responsible for
developing an overall digital picture of the Commander's battlefield and
is incorporating into the business field. Bradley Hurajt is currently
the Operations Manager at Concorde General Agency where over the past
two years has been learning the Insurance industry and the challenges it
Trevor Keyes founded Maprisk in 2016 after a 15 year career at the MGA he co-founded in 2001. During his time at the MGA, Trevor managed various technology initiatives including rating platform developments, document content management systems, and the original Maprisk platform. He is a graduate of Emory University and holds a Juris Doctor from the University of Miami School of Law.
Robert W. Wells is a multiple exit entrepreneur and technology executive developing customer-led, digital-centric businesses and digital transformation efforts. With Silicon Valley experience and more than a dozen product & business launches under his belt, he is passionate about bringing innovations to market and managing the teams that bring ideas to life.
He has founded and played key roles in multiple software and professional services companies, developing them from startup to mid-size, sustainable businesses and architecting and supporting acquisitions and mergers; including Arrow Digital, (3x listed in INC 5000 fastest growing company's in America), and QualityHub, (a GrowFL winner). These companies have provided software and services to some of the largest global brands including Johnson & Johnson, Boston Scientific, PwC, Amgen, ADP, TOMS< and Pandora Media.
