Underwriting Boot Camp

October 26-29, 2020 • Facilitated virtual learning
For insurance professionals new to or with limited surplus lines underwriting exposure or experience

About the Program

This course is designed to establish an underwriting foundation in the wholesale, specialty and surplus lines market for insurance professionals new to surplus lines and/or interested in developing an underwriting skill set. With the current restrictions and changes due to COVID-19, WSIA has converted the 2020 program into a four-day facilitated virtual learning experience.  The course is case study-centric and focuses primarily on the Property and General Liability lines of business.  Attendees expand their insurance terminology and strengthen their underwriting approach. At the end of the program, through classroom facilitation, discussion and thorough case studies, students will be more effective in their jobs.

What Alumni Have To Say

“The WSIA Underwriting Boot Camp has been a tremendous help. One of the takeaways was the amount of knowledge the instructors had. They were able to really define and get down to the nitty-gritty details and provide that information to us. There were a lot of what-if questions, and we worked together along as a group.”
Kyle Bolls, S/L Stamping Office of TX

“The biggest takeaways are the people and the networking. Getting to know them and have those networks across the country is valuable. I strongly recommend WSIA Underwriting Boot Camp. It’s a way to network, learn and broaden your horizons in the insurance industry.”
Kenny Ogden, IFG Companies
